The Baldwin Highlander Marching Band took the national stage on May 28, 2012, marching in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C.
The band was first featured in the national broadcast's opening presentation, honoring America in an opening number featuring almost 90 American flags.
The band also performed in the parade, playing "Main Street America," a medley featuring "You're a Grand Old Flag," as well as melodies honoring each branch of our Armed Forces.
The Highlander Band braved the high temperatures (over 90 much of the day) and performed spectacularly down Constitution Avenue, past the Smithsonian Museums, Washington Monument, and the White House.
The performance was part of the band's spring trip, with additional stops at the National Aquarium and Fort McHenry in Baltimore, as well as a tour of the Capitol, a walking tour of the monuments around the National Mall and a visit to the Air and Space Museum near Dulles Airport.
